Wading into Vancouver Island

 Oct 27

Word to the wise - neon orange seasoning on chicken just may be hotter than you thought. Darn near poisoned Linda!

Wandering for Nanaimo River access.

Linda does laundry (with “Adult lounge”)

Beach walk with Eagles (Linda) and a win for Linda at cribbage (finally)

Got mail from Winnipeg. Thanks guys!

Oct 30

Road trip along the Nanaimo River road as far as “second lake”, of four. Logging roads!

Spent six hrs waiting to see a Dr. for two minutes to get a requisition for my bloodwork.

Oct 31

Met “Dill” at Timmie’s on Halloween, he was a real pickle!

Spent more time trying to find access to river.

Linda went to the Eagles cliff trail to see the Eagles and Mushrooms and dead Salmon (in the forest).

Nov 1

Met local crew to go fishing, but didn’t have required footwear. Still went for lunch with that nice group of guys.

Have spent too much money on fishing gear (i.e. chest waders, then wading boots)… need to start bringing in some catches!

Had fresh Halibut dinner.

Nov 2

Wonderful French toast with raspberry topping.

Walked at two different beaches and found a tidal pool with “squishy stuff” (Linda’s highly technical term for sea anemones and little fish, shrimps, mussels and oysters)

Topped the walking off with another Nanaimo bar at Serious Coffee cafe.

Loving the brilliant fall colours.

Linda is on a tear at cribbage lately…

We’re on our way…!

Welcome to our stories… Retired life on the road. We did three nights at Lake Adam, MB. We had an entire bay to ourselves! Now we’re at Moose Mountain, SK, for one night. So far the roads have been great, and the trailer clutter reduced. This is our home for the next six months. We went Bananas in Melita MB. Crossing the border!

The Peanut Butter is in the sink…

Early A&W coffee in Carlisle SK. They only had cream, so… out to the trailer for milk! Rich Hopps was right! A&W coffee IS really smooth. Then off to Big Muddy!   Badlands and Castle Butte  Linda got to check Big Muddy off her map! And after two years Linda still can’t always close the truck door (door seal vs air pressure). For what it’s worth sorting has found a place.
